About David

David Dimmick is a self taught Canadian artist based in Southampton, Ontario. Inspired by Ontario landscapes, historical places, and time spent outdoors with family, his work aims to capture more than a scene. It explores the feeling of being somewhere and the memories connected to it.

 

Along with life on the shores of Lake Huron, time spent at the family farm on Manitoulin Island continues to shape his perspective and inspire much of his work. Influenced by Canadian impressionist painters, David is drawn to quiet places, back roads, shorelines, and moments that often go unnoticed.

 

Working primarily in oils, he hopes to encourage people to slow down and reconnect with places that stay with us.
